Caves des Perrieres Pouilly Fume Sauvignon Blanc 2007

After drinking mostly New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs recently, this French SB is much more delicate and refined. The initial taste is zesty and refreshing with a feather-light mouth feel. The closest sensation that comes to mind is drinking cold water infused with cucumber and lemon after sitting in the sun. The finish picks up a little spice and has a nice mineral presence. This wine would easily be overtaken by most foods, but I definitely would pair it with a lightly–if at all–seasoned white fish. Or drink it like me with a bowl of salted almonds.

Price: $9.99

Hey, that is exactly how I drink Pouilly Fume, with salted almonds!
